Our Mission

FTBUF seeks to partner with other organizations focused on women & girls' empowerment, to produce fundraising initiatives to support the Foundation’s work. In addition to fundraising, FTBUF hosts and produces forums and wellness events that offer culturally tailored resources, education, and services to meet the psychosocial and socioeconomic challenges disproportionately impacting minority women and girls

Meet Our Founder

Nicci Gilbert-Daniels

Nicci Gilbert-Daniels, founder of From The Bottom Up Foundation, founding member of the Grammy nominated group Brownstone, and creator of She Speaks Live. Nicci is one of television’s most sought after executive producers. As the CEO of NoEgo Entertainment, a digital content company, she created TV One’s most popular docu-franchise, R&B Divas which spawned two franchises and seven seasons, and the popular BET Her series, From the Bottom Up which she executive produces with Queen Latifah entering its third season. Nicci’s business and philanthropic achievements have garnered recognition from a variety of awards including Billboard Music Award, Lincoln Shining Star, Influencer and most recently BET Her awarded her the 2018 “Woman Of Impact.” In 2018 Nicci will make her debut as a filmmaker after recently completing her first documentary film Broken Things which addresses child molestation and sexual misconduct.

    Pamela Price is a Texas native with a passion for helping women and girls achieve everything they were created to be. For more than 20 years, she has worked with national and government agencies to develop and implement multi-faceted programs to meet the societal and cultural needs of women and under-served communities. As an exemplary leader with an innovative mindset, Pamela provides direction & support to multi-sector organizations in the areas of project design, implementation and evaluation, to strengthen their overall efficiency & capacity to deliver impactful & sustainable programs and services. She is a representative member of national committees, coalitions, and advisory boards, and excels in working with both public & private sector institutions to provide leadership and guidance on project  development & management. Mrs. Price a national speaker & educator, routinely  sharing information & offering insightful viewpoints on issues ranging from mental health to HIV/AIDS to the psychosocial challenges of women leaders. She currently serves as the Board President for The From The Bottom Up Foundation, Inc. where she works to bridge the gaps in media & entertainment to women's & girls' well-being & lifestyle.


    In addition to her many professional accomplishments, what Pamela is most proud of is her role as wife to 22-year Army veteran, Sedwick and mother to their three amazing children, rising college student Kiana and rambunctious 8-year-old twins Brenn and Sedwick, Jr, literal Christmas babies that resulted from IVF after years of infertility.  She is also living with bipolar disorder, a 3x suicide survivor, and cervical cancer survivor. She is a fearless and transparent mental health advocate committed to changing the narrative and stigmas associated with mental illness and reclaiming   what it means to be a Strong Resilient Black Woman!

    Christine Beatty is a proven leader with expertise in municipal and state government, organizational management and development as well as campaign management. In addition, she has a background in Social Work with a Masters Degree from Wayne State University and a Bachelors Degree from Howard University.


    In recent years, Christine has worked successfully with small businesses providing management consulting services. She led organizational restructuring, organizational development, operational

    management, new division launches, community outreach and RFP solicitation and preparation for Perkins Management Services, a food services company, and CSM America, an aviation janitorial services company. In addition, she delivered IT projects within scope and budget, maintained relationships with vendors and stakeholders, and utilized organizational and analytical skills in Microsoft Project in her capacity as a contract Project Manager with Anthem, Inc.


    In 2002, Christine became the youngest Chief of Staff in the City of Detroit’s history, after serving as deputy campaign manager of Kwame Kilpatrick’s first successful mayoral bid. She was named one of Michigan’s Most Influential Women by Crain’s Detroit Business in

    2004. Her drive and talent produced solid results for the City of Detroit, her beloved city where she was born and raised. Her “can- do” reputation was well known and evidenced when she successfully brought organizations and individuals together on projects, maintained partnerships and encouraged cooperation between all parties.


    Two of her most notable achievements while serving in her capacity as chief of staff were negotiating a deal between, the City of Detroit, Wayne County and the State of Michigan to save one of Detroit’s premier hospitals, Detroit Receiving, which holds the city’s top level 1 trauma center, and serving as lead negotiator for the city’s 2006 labor agreements in which she negotiated health care and wage concessions that resulted in over $30 million in savings to the City.


    Christine's political and legislative career began back in 1996 working as Legislative aide and Chief of Staff in the Michigan House of Representatives. During her time there, she worked on Michigan's historic Brownfield Development legislation that was responsible for the redevelopment of many abandoned properties in the city of Detroit and helped to lead legislative efforts against the State's takeover of the Detroit Public Schools.


    Christine  has  spent  countless  hours  in  service  to  others  as   a non-profit board member, active member  of  Delta  Sigma  Theta Sorority, Inc.  and  as  a  mentor  to  many  young  women  in the Atlanta and Detroit area.


    Christine now resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her two daughters, Maya, 22 and Lauren, 21.

    Luchia M. Ashe is an embodiment of diligence.  A product of the illustrious Spelman College, Ms. Ashe has sharply honed her skills in mathematics and management in the entertainment industry.  From her humble beginnings as a Production Assistant with Haymon Entertainment and an Office Assistant with the Arthur Ashe Foundation, she quickly used her unparalleled drive to catapult her to a prestigious position as the General Manager of the international tour production and promotions company, PEACHEZ, INC.  It was with Haymon Entertainment that Ms. Ashe worked with some of the most notable names in entertainment including Puff Daddy, Mary J. Blige, LSG, Steve Harvey, Luther Vandross, Lauryn Hill and Destiny’s Child.


    Personally picked, Ms. Ashe then played an integral role in the early development of the Grammy-Winning recording artist, Solange.  In 2003, Ms. Ashe began her climb at PEACHEZ, INC producing and promoting record-breaking Tyler Perry arena and theatre tours and other noteworthy live events.  She has expanded her career by becoming an Executive Producer of the 3 seasons of successful BET/BETHer docu-series, “From the Bottom Up”.  She is currently producing a variety of television and film projects due to launch 1st quarter of 2021 and livestream performances with top artists.  Determination and passion along with an unwavering commitment to create opportunities for people to share their stories and realize their own success is the driving force behind her accomplished career.
